Don’t be too dependent on reservation. Kick your ass and work hard..

4 years back I fell down on the hard marble floor of my home and got my right hand elbow fractured. It was too painful. I somehow managed to reach hospital with help of my brother where Doctor applied plaster on my hand from wrist to shoulder. For more than a month it was going to be there and I had to wear a support band around my neck to drape my hand.

Initially it was too difficult to cope up with daily chores using only left hand. I was not able to eat, bathe or even brush my teeth. But slowly in a week or so I started managing.

Right hand was at complete vacation, enjoying free time and sleeping in the darkness under the plaster. Left hand was working overtime to extend support to my right hand.

Time as usual flew and day came when doctor examined my hand and said that he was going to cut plaster off my hand. I was happy when it was removed and my hand felt fresh air after 45 days. Doctor suggested few exercises to start with so that hand could slowly get it’s strength back.

But to my surprise, I didn’t want to use my right hand at all. After resting and enjoying life for so many days, my hand had become so used to the support that it was not ready to take any pain of going through physiotherapy or exercise at all. I was also feeling so comfortable with my hand still hanging to my neck with the support band. Even though it was ready to gain the strength, put efforts and help my left hand in supporting my life, it was not doing so.

Finally it took me good efforts to force my hand come out of comfort zone and get to the work.

Tod29188947-gujjar-agitation-1ay when I see at the reservation related agitations, be it Jats/Gujjars agitating on railway tracks disrupting lives of millions of Indians or this new Patel Community Agitation sparked by an unknown young man, I can very much relate them to my right hand.

After many years of support and help, sections of our society have become so dependent on free stuff that now they are not ready to take the pain of putting efforts. They want everything for free.

A person might once need a support if he is really underprivileged, agreed, support provided in his education and in job as well. Now if he is doing good, why his son/daughter needs similar support again and then his grandchildren as well, really? Are you guys making fool of entire country?

Once a person was pulled to same level by giving him help in education why does he need support in getting job and then in promotion and then his children’s education? I am 100% sure that son of an OBC IAS officer does not need any kind of reservation, same goes to son or daughterof a MP or MLA.

By doing this are we not doing injustice to underprivileged people who are from general category. What about a kid from general category whose father lost his life at young age working in private sector, does he not deserve some support?

I am sure everyone including people who are demanding reservation, people who are already enjoying it, politicians who are supporting them, knows that this is injustice to other hard working people and killing fair competition in our country. It is also causing brain drain. But they are so habitual of getting things for free that they will never raise a voice against reservations.

I think time has come to remove all this support, kick their asses and throw themout of their comfortable couches. You cannot learn swimming until you have the courage to go into water. You cannot learn bi-cycling without falling few times. You cannot keep your car in garage and wait for all the signals of the city to go green. We have to be strict and strong hearted like the bird that leaves her children alone to fly.

We need an open and fair-for-all atmosphere in our country to compete with developed countries. SUPPORT UNDERPRIVILEGED AND GIVE THEM SOME TYPE OF RESERVATIONS IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR CASTE BUT THAT SUPPORT SHOULD BE PROVIDED ONLY ONCE NOT FOR GENERATIONS.
